The Hidden Forces: Incentives

This is one of the most powerful things in the universe!

Incentives promote productivity in several ways.

Knowing the drive and passion behind your actions can help you determine how to best stimulate and move yourself to reach your goals.

Charles Munger (Warren Buffets vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and a wise investor) says, it is one of the most powerful forces in the universe.

It’s not gravity or anything like that.

It’s incentives.

Humans are hardwired by incentives.

Challenge yourself to set an incentive.

At this point, you have a goal in mind.

Whether it’s under 10% body fat or having six-pack abs.

Set your sights on your goals, write them down, and put your carrot in.

The carrot is something that will incentivize you to get it done and work like a hungry hyena to make it happen.

Whether it’s a weekend away with your boys on a motorbike trip, buying a new toy for the man cave, or booking your ticket for Alpha Camp.

Put something on the line and create an incentive to get it done.

If you’re really hardcore, you can set a negative incentive.

Give your friend a cheque for $1000 and if you don’t hit your goal by your desired date, let him cash it to an “anti-charity” (something you’d be mortified to have given money to).

What forces are behind your actions? Do you get up and head to the gym each day because you know it's good for you, or is it because of some type of external reward?

All progress takes place outside the comfort zone. Let’s keep getting it done!
